I've enjoyed plenty of oven toast in my time, as well as skillet toast when my grandmother didn't want to light the oven for just a couple of slices. My favorite skillet toast is white bread fried in butter on both sides until crispy, then thinly spread with peanut butter and sprinkled with sugar and cinnamon.
